The Optimist's AI Manifesto
Note: No AI is used in writing my blogs. So there is soul behind every (imperfect) word, and meaning behind every (suboptimal) sentence.
1
Given, the complexity of nature and the amount of unknown entities and randomness.
We can never run out of problems to solve.
Or things to do.
2
Is almost all software engineering now fully AI-built? Create software that can help in solving cancer.
Solved cancer? Now build a physics simulator that can help us get to the Theory of Everything.
Done that too? Now work on increasing our lifespans and increasing our physical and mental abilities to crazy limits.
Happy enough? Now lets settle on new planets or star systems. And then galaxies and then universes….
We'll think about the next things to do, once we solve (or prove unsolvable) the above.

There is obviously more nuance to things than the above. But optimism on a high level is a better guiding principle. Nobody likes the buzzkill pessimist who says, “See guys? I was right! We were all going to hell!”
Human brains work better, when there is some hope for good tomorrow, even if today is bad.
